HISTORY   The name as I mentioned is derived from the name of God Taru, worshipped by the tribal people of this region. Legends say that Taru was the chief of the village and was killed in a legendary fight against a tiger. To honor his sacrifice, a shrine was made under a huge tree on the bank of Tadoba Lake. Tadoba National Park – Tadoba-Andhari Tiger It is famous for its natural heritage and the name Tadoba is derived from the tribal god named Taru which is worshipped by the tribal and Andhari comes from the Andhari river which flows through the park. The core area of the Reserve is 625 sq.km.
